Julie joined the KHD team in June 2025, bringing a detail-oriented and organized eye to the position of Data Specialist. They are trained in trauma-informed care and believe strongly in the practices and frameworks of transformative justice, abolition and mutual aid. The holistic defense model at KHD sees and advocates for the whole person, which feels very aligned with their values. Julie studied Urban Studies & Planning and Global Studies, living in Austria, Ethiopia and Germany for their graduate degree. 

In 2024 Julie hiked the 500+ mile Camino del Norte in Spain. When they’re not dreaming of the next big adventure, they can usually be found reading, going to the movies with their partner or cuddling with their cat.
