eventually) on novel issues of law. This training will educate criminal defense attorneys on the process for identifying novel issues ripe for litigation, best practices
for preserving issues at the trial level, and advice on how to research to support your issues.
Meet Your Presenter
John Sadek
John Sadek has been a public defender in Worcester County since he started at the Committee for Public Counsel Services (CPCS) in 2016 and is currently a supervising trial attorney. He has primarily represented people in the Worcester District Court, Worcester Superior Court, and other courts throughout Worcester County. While representing clients, he focuses on client-directed advocacy while identifying litigation strategies that include challenging systems, structures, and practices consistent with their goals. John has been involved in training public defenders while at CPCS and has presented at programs for Massachusetts Continuing Legal Education and the Worcester County Bar Association on topics including drug recognition experts in operating under the influence cases, obtaining police misconduct records, and trial objection.
