Every client has a unique lived experience and specific needs, and it is the advocate's duty to differentiate and respond proactively to those particularities during the interview and the entire representation. Understanding, responding to, and effectively accommodating clients with disabilities is a legal and ethical duty of attorneys.

This course will cover Federal and State laws relating to disabilities, how those laws apply to the attorney-client relationship, and best practices to facilitate effective communication, counselling and relationship-building with clients with disabilities.
